Wow – what an experience! How lucky we have been to have enjoyed this 2 week family holiday at Manoir Lespine. The large bedrooms are well spaced out and each one has it’s own en suite bathroom. The cooking/dining facilities are set up perfectly for a large family get together, the massive kitchen is well equipped and we made good use of the outdoor pizza oven and bbq. We only ate out twice and there’s plenty of places around if that’s your preference.

There are so many things to discover around and about and so much to do at the property too. We spent a few fabulous days out at the river beach in Aubeterre. The heated pool is excellent as is the junior trampoline. There’s table tennis, fishing, horses in the field, bar football, quad biking, paint balling, rounders – the list goes on.

A special thank you to Jean-Louis the property owner, he’s been lovely to deal with and has made a great effort to ensure a brilliant holiday for all of us.

«  Trop beau pour être vrai … ? »

“My family and friends recently spent a magical week (in september) at this lovely old manor home in the Dordogne region.  We really wish we had booked the place for two weeks…one week was not enough to take full advantage of the location and the home.  The manor is much more gorgeous and spacious than the on line pictures fully represent, with tons of character, a lovely swimming pool, horses on the property, fruit trees, a creek, etc.  We had the quintessential French country experience here, we even made some pies from the fresh fruit off the trees.  Highly recommended for a very memorable week – I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. »

“I remember our last holiday with a great pleasure. With three families, we have had a great holiday in the Dordogne. The house is beautiful and larger than expected. Especially the interior will surprise you in every room (and there are many). How wonderful that such a stylish country house is big enough for several families. The garden is a great addition. In the sun or under the « porch » every night we enjoyed the beautiful gardens overlooking the horses while enjoying a glass of wine.”

« We have rented several houses in France in recent years  and we found this house to be perfect for a group of friends or a large family.  We were delighted to find on our arrival that it was even better than the photos had led us to expect.. The bedrooms and living areas are very generous in size and it is always possible to find a quiet place to relax on your own if you wish.  We also enjoyed many wonderful meals outside in the garden as well as in the very spacious and welcoming kitchen. In summer, there is the added pleasure of picking cherries from the orchard. The house is extremely well located close enough to a village ( Neuvic )  to buy fresh bread and pastries for breakfast every day.  There are many places to visit each day if you can tear yourself away and of course the wonderful market in Perigueux twice a week. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our host Jean- Louis who was full of helpful advice and suggestions. The property  has been in his family for many generations and we were full of questions about the house and its contents when we met him again at the end of our stay. If you are more active, there are many local walks and its a great area for cycling if you have bikes.

We highly recommend it to both the active and the couch potatoes. »

« I wanted to thank you again for yet another beautiful holiday in your magnificent manor, which seems to get even more beautiful every year. The weather was perfect again, as was the food/drinks and the surroundings. We visited Perigeux, Bergerac and the lovely winelands around Saint-Emilion and Pomerol which were all in itself were very nice trips, but I guess we still enjoyed to most just spending time in your beautiful garden and sitting by the pool. Relaxing and forgetting the hectic lives we live sometimes back home. We’ll meet again, hopefully in the near future! »

Our stay in Neuvic was wonderful!  The manor is even more beautiful in reality, and the surroundings, with its lovely pastoral views and
total peace and quiet cannot be adequately  expressed in photos.  We enjoyed the manor so much, we recommended it to friends who stayed there with their entire family of 10 and still had plenty of room!  The Perigord is our favorite department in France, and we especially enjoyed visiting Brantome, Perigueux and St Emilion. In any case, the manor is a wonderful place to stay – and Jean-Louis, the owner, makes sure everything is just right.

Ed from Boston, Massachusetts USA – 2009 « Dear Jean Louis.
We enjoyed our stay in Neuvic very much.  Your house is beautiful and the grounds magnificent.  Three generations of my family were delighted.
The Dordogne is a great place to be in the summer.  The weather was comfortable and there were many things to do.  It seemed like we went from one interesting thing to another but always enjoyed coming back to your house.  I did not have a chance to fish north of Brantome but I did fish in the Vern (though I was unsuccessful in catching any trout).  There is a huge Brown Trout in the pool
below your house (I saw him leap out of the water) and many just above Grignols.
I found later that a grasshoper fly was attractive to trout in France at that time of year.
Your house added to the best vacation I have ever had.
I hope to come again next year.
Thank you—————————————————————————
